I've hit this Callaway X Hot Hybrid a bunch at the golf shop and just love it, great look from address and it seems to perform quite well in the golf shop simulator. I'll be reviewing this new offering from Callaway. The loft, length, CG height and thinner face are all designed to optimize distance and trajectory in hybrids that are longer from everywhere. The modern Warbird Sole delivers increased versatility from everywhere with an updated design that builds off one of the most versatile lines ever produced. The Speed Frame Face creates incredibly fast ball speeds all across the face for longer, more consistent distance. This technology helps optimize the CG and offers more forgiveness for accurate shots. The clubs - which have already been adopted by some of golf's longest players, including new Callaway Staff Professional Gary Woodland - are a result of extensive R&D, and utilise optimised design progression and adjustability to suit all players. The X-Hot family is completed by two new hybrids, which feature a thin-faced design for distance and a reconfigured sole plate with more relief in the heel and the toe, designed to increase forgiveness on a variety of lies. It feels quick off the face and is nice and light. There is loads of energy in the shaft and head and I like the silver/grey finish. An excellent all-rounder that performs in every category. By the way, The cheap Callaway X Hot irons added about five yards of carry over my current irons, which is nice, but what really struck me about the X Hots – and had me debating the merits of some fuzzy accounting that might let me rationalize buying a set for myself – was the fantastically tight shot dispersion. I am by no means a sharpshooter: my game is usually about trying to hit four or five greens a round and the rest of the time getting close enough with approaches to chip and putt my way to a halfway decent score. So when I say that about 90 percent of the swings taken with the X Hot irons ended up within ten yards left or right of the target line, you can hopefully appreciate that included some pretty god-awful swings that the clubs saved my keister on. You’re going to hit more greens with these irons. To sum up, this is the most appealing hybrid I hit. Even the bad shots were good! I’d love to pull one of these cheap golf clubs out of my bag because I’d be so confident of hitting a good shot in any situation.
