Most jobs can be further broken down into a series of simpler tasks until a point is obtained where further subdivision is not possible. Such small tasks are termed as micro tasks or jobs. It is a term which was devised and perfected at Samasource. Micro jobs are generally given over the internet over websites that help people get and offer freelance work. Many people living in developed countries use the cheap internet labor available for developing countries to perform rudimentary works such as computer documentation, draft making, creation of minutes of meeting and other such activities. Thus, the micro jobs come under the general patronage of freelance works that are available these days on the internet on specialized websites. These websites usually take a broker commission from both the freelance worker and the employer. They are representing a very successful business model as we can see from the working of websites such as Elance and others. These freelance websites allow you to work as independent contractors where you do not have a long time contractual obligation to your employer, you in fact are hired for a particular task which you can pretty much perform without any kind of interference usually faced in company environments with many departments. The general tasks available as micro tasks usually involve some kind of data manipulation. These may include the need to produce traffic to a website or the collection of email addresses of some relevant people. The micro activities may also include simple translations and transcriptions in which people are much better performers than computers of today. The micro jobs can also be used for very active social study methods as people are paid for micro jobs and they will do and work under it with enthusiasm and utmost attention. All simple tasks in which humans are better than computers are usually micro tasked these days by using internet and many freelancing websites on it which work usually under a commission based model. There are many advantages of micro tasks. As these are offered for freelancers these jobs are performed with the ease of sitting at your home and working on your time schedules rather than those one has to follow at a proper office going job. You can work anywhere and receive online payment anywhere for your work. These payments are also tax free at the time of payment although you may have to declare all your income in various countries of the world. These micro activities provide a fighting chance to people suffering from poverty as many of these tasks can easily be performed by very basic knowledge of computer and its working. These micro jobs are great especially for young people who are still studying as well as home residing women. As with all methods, there are always disadvantages attached with their advantages. Some people say that the trend of giving away small jobs online tends to create a saving for the employer as he or she does not need to pay insurance or medical expense charges for these people as they are not permanent employees of a business. Employers can also circumnavigate from laws relating to minimum wage, retirement and even child labor using internet methods. We still believe that the benefits of online freelance micro jobs are still greater than its defects as they provide a way of income anyhow. You find many micro jobs on our website. There are many people who are available as a worker to perform simple jobs.
