I frequently read articles about women who want to romance the man in their lives but feel frustrated when his level of enthusiasm is…well…less than expected. Who wouldn't get excited? Yes, you staged the perfect evening but the perfect evening for you, not for him. The issue is that your definition of romance may be completely different to his definition of romance. 'So big deal.' I hear you say? Well if you want him to connect with you, if you want to create a romantic evening that he will never forget, then yes, it is a big deal…a very big deal. Unless you understand what his definition of a romantic evening is, your efforts will receive little genuine enthusiasm. Even if you were a Michelin star chef, your cooking will not throw him into ecstatic convulsions if it does not matter to him whether he is eating fine food or fast food.
