Rabdentse Ruins
Accessible from the beautiful Pemayangtse Monastery, the city of Rabdentse was established by the son (Chadok Namgyal) of the first monarch (Phuntsog Namgyal) of the state. It remained the capital of the kingdom from the years 1670 to 1814. Then there came a time, when the Nepalese army conquered and destroyed it, leaving behind only ruins of chortens and the royal palace.
