Sorts of Night Vision Technology According to different operating principles, now night vision technology may be divided into 3 big sorts as follow: 1, Shimmer night vision technology 2, Passive infrared light night vision technology(named thermal imagery night vision technology) 3, Initiative infrared light night vision technology 1, Shimmer night vision technology People often use pitch dark to describe dark of nightly darkness. But in fact, night is not complete dark, still exist shimmer such as moonlight, starlight and celestial of sheen of gas.Shimmer night vision system is a kind of night vision technology which translates weak natural light image into enhanced hundreds of times, even ten thousands of times of electron image through image intensifier, and then translates enhanced electron image into visual optical imagery. 2, Far Infrared (Thermal Imagery) Passive Imaging Night Vision Technology Far infrared (thermal imagery) night vision technology is named passive infrared night vision technology. When thermal imagery work, same as shimmer night vision,it need not additional light source. It is a kind of passive night vision technology. But its working principle is entirely different from that of shimmer night vision camcorder. Shimmer night vision camcorder depends on strengthening natural light to proceed work. But infrared thermal imagery camcorder form images using differences in temperature of each part of scenery itself and between scenery and background. Infrared thermal imagery system via receiving infrared light sent by goal object itself to form images. 3, Initiative Infrared Image Formation Technology Initiative Infrared night vision technology use infrared lamp to emit infrared light of 780nm-1100nm wavelength to irradiate scenery watched. Light of this wavelength can not be identified by human eye, but may be inducted to form images by CCD image device, thus achieve aim of enhancing night vision effect.
