Master's degree programs in library science commonly provide students with foundational information in librarianship. Another option for graduates is to obtain certificates in a specific area of library science, such as school library media or museum studies. Before an accepted student can be matriculated into the MLS programs, a Planned Program of Study must be completed and approved (signed) by the advisor, department chairperson, and Graduate School. Once the Planned Program is approved, any change in courses to be taken must be approved by the student's advisor.
