The G15 Series appeals to the majority of golfers who rely on the easier-to-hit attributes of a maximum forgiveness, higher launch type of club. The new G15 irons for sale from Ping have been designed with the game improver in mind.
Like the K15 irons for sale, they offer maximum forgiveness but are a subtler proposition aesthetically. This provides those who may have trouble getting the ball airborne with a confident feeling that this can be achieved and this indeed proved to be the case.
One pleasant surprise was that during the backswing the club head felt weighted in such a way that I was aware of its position and so found it easier to control my current golfing curse, the over-swing. Ping have released another winner, one that the mid- to high-handicapper will love, and although there are never any guarantees that a new set of irons will reduce your handicap I believe that these clubs will provide you with a very good chance of doing so.
For someone that has not played a PING iron in quite a while, setting up to the G15s can be quite a shock to the system. Literally, no matter what angle you look at the club, the wide sole - which is even wider than before - was unavoidable. For some players this is like seeing a mustache on the Mona Lisa. For others, the bulge may be the finishing touch necessary to inspire confidence.
I had thought at first that PING was trying to pull a fast one when it claimed that the irons had more distance. If you look at the specs for the G15 irons and the ping g20 irons for sale you should notice that PING decreased the loft of every club by one degree. When I went to the range, I was expecting to gain approximately three to five yards of distance with every club. I was pretty satisfied with myself when I literally hit almost every club in my bag.
Fortunately, I hit the clubs using a launch monitor later on in the day and found out that I was hitting the ball about three to five yards farther but was completely wrong about why. If the distance could be attributed purely to the loft decrease, I should have seen a slight decrease in trajectory as well.
With the G15's, Ping have produced another range of cheap golf clubs that the mid- to high-handicapper will relish. The clubs are simple to use, easy to get airborne and the unfussy designs and classy red and black colour scheme remove any unwanted complications from the thought process.
