It is known to all, Ping is always looking to change their drivers, irons, hybrid and fairways to benefit the golfers. Especially Ping released many fairway wood, like K15, G15 and G20 woods. Those are still being played today. Here I am going to talk about them respectively. The Ping K15 fairway wood is ideal for those who struggle with fairways. The head is oversized and with a longer, deeper face the Ping G15 fairways and this provides excellent levels of forgiveness. As the head the larger than standard it gives a great zing sound at impact and the feel is very good too. The flight is a little higher than a cheap Ping G15 fairway wood, but not much and as long as you are not playing in windy conditions, mid-handicappers could consider this club too. The SF Tec (Straight Flight Technology) ‘bulge’ on the heel side of the sole is subtle and helps to turn the club over at impact to reduce the likelihood of a fade. My only reservation might be the price, with the G15 fairway already on the market the K15 would seemed to be aimed at the higher handicapper who might not want to pay such a premium. The lower handicapper might have more discernment for the subtle difference in hitting it flush versus just missing it but I couldn't and quite frankly, wasn't a big concern for me. Making golf a bit easier is much higher on the list and the G15 scored high marks. The head on the G20 is fairly large in appearance at 164cc, but much of that is since it is a fairly flat and shallow fairway wood. The crown is a metal flaked gray finish with a large alignment aid and the bottom is an extremely shiny chrome finish with black and red accents. I had more than a few shots on the course where I was a bit worried about the results, only to find myself in the fairway without much distance loss. I found that missing high on the face caused the least desirable results for me. While I didn’t absolutely love this shaft for my swing, I found it to be a pretty nice compliment to the Ping G20 fairway wood for sale. I felt the feel of the G20 was pretty responsive in that I was well aware when I hit a clean shot. The sound of well struck shots was a bit muted with a nice, high-pitched ‘ping’. I really enjoyed the sound and found myself wanting to hear it over and over. In all, the G20 fairway wood is one of the more attractive offerings I’ve seen from PING. In summary, these Ping K15, G15 and G20 clubs are really nice fairway metals. They are very well-balanced, affordable and handsome. No matter which Fairway wood you choose, you are getting the great feel from these best cheap golf clubs!
