Besan Sweets and its Recipes

Besan is made from channa dal. It have some names like chick pea flour, ground flour, gram flour. Beasn can be made from raw chickpeas but the roasted chickpeas is very powerful and better taste. This food is very popoular amongst indian from the ancient time. Of course, besan have very high value amongst people as it make tasty of any food. This is not wrong if we say it king of kitchen. Most of food like pakora, Chilla, bred roll and many others dish, are popular in India. Gram flour/Besan contains high portion of carbohydrates but it has also high proportion of protein. Now here you will read how besan is popular amonst Indian people. Besan is known by all age of person in India whether it is Delhi, Maharastra, Orissa, Punjab all states people know besan qualities and like to eat this.

Besan items in India -

Besan Ladoos:- Besan Ladoo is very famous sweet of India. This sweet is served on every occassion , means any festival like Deewali, Teej, Raksha Bandhan and it can be served in marriage too. Laddo is also served as cookies and chocolate traditionally in Indian houses.

Make 32 Besan ladoo with this Recipe Ingredients: 2 -1 cups gram flour (basen) 8 tablespoons sliced almonds (badam) 1 cup unsalted melted butter (ghee) 1/2 teaspoons coarsely grounded cardamom seeds (ilaichi) 4 tablespoons semolina flour (fine sooji) 1. 3 cups sugar

For Garnish: 2 tablespoons sliced pistachios (pista) 2 tablespoon melted butter or ghee

Method 1.Mix the Besan (gram flour) with sooji and melted butter in a large frying pan. 2.Light the stove on medium level and start to roast the mixture until besan change in light brown colour. 3.As the colour been changed you will feel a sweet smell of roasted besan mixture. It may take 7 to minutes. 4.When the mixture is change in brown colour, add mix cardamom seeds, almonds and sugar in the same mixture. 5.To give this mixutre in ladoos shape, take about 2 tablespoon of prepared mixutred and gently press the mixture between your palms then round it as ball. The ladoos are usually about the size of snooker ball.

Any festival is not complete without Besan sweets so here you can make Besan barfi at home by following this besan recipe. Recipe for 500 Kg Besan ki Barfi

Gram flour (besan) - 4 tea cup (500 grams) Desi ghee - 2 cup (400 gram) Milk - 250 Sugar - 2 cup (500 grams) Pistachios – 30 g

1. Mix Besan (gram flour) with milk and 2 table spoon ghee. Cut one cashew nut to poured on barfi when it serve to eat. 2. Put the ghee in a pan and heat in slow fire and stir the mixture until it get light brown colour. As it change in brown color take out it in a plate. 3. After that put approximately ½ cup water in pan and warm it until it be melt and cook it for 2 minutes. 4. Add besan in the melted sugar and cook for 2 minutes thereafter poured cashew nuts and cardamom powder. 5. Put some ghee on a plate and pour the prepared mixture and spread it on the plate and wait until it may be thick. As it become thick cut it with knife now Besan Burfi is ready to serve.
