Airport furniture refers to the pieces of furniture provided by the airline for customers to sit on and use while waiting for their flights to arrive. Most airport furniture consists of lounge seats, chairs, and the occasional bench seat. Some airport furniture includes shelving to hold pamphlets and reading materials for the waiting customer. A bent frame can be an indicator that a future accident is going to happen. If a person weighing two hundred and fifty pounds or more were to sit in a chair with a bent frame the result could be the chair failing to hold the individual and them being dumped onto the floor. Safety examinations of everything that the public can be exposed to have to be done by every company. In order to protect the customer and the company these safety checks should be done in writing so that the management can see when the last check was, what the examiner saw at the time, and then determine if a malfunction could have been prevented.
