The Inca trail is controlled by the Peruvian government. You have to plan in advance and be able to trek for days while sleeping in tents. The trip takes days and is quite challenging, so you need to be sure that you are fit enough for it. There are other options that are much easier and are not as time consuming as the Inca Route.
