The duration of the surgery may be one or two weeks while the duration of conservative treatments may be longer-it will be 1-3 months based on the different condition of the patients. The cost of the conservative treatments varies a lot from what exactly the treatment procedures will be done during the treatment while the surgery of the scoliosis is much more expensive than the conservative treatment. And of course usually the effect of the surgery will be better than the conservative treatment in severe scoliosis cases if we focus only the change of the curve of the spine. For example, here is a patient with a curve of 50 degrees. The curve of the spine will be reduced to about 10 degrees by surgery while 35 degrees by conservative treatment at one cycle. But for mild and moderate scoliosis, non-surgical scoliosis treatment will be better while the surgery can do nothing about it.
