I've had my TaylorMade Rocketbladez irons for a little over a month now. The are incredibly fast and incredibly long while also promoting increased accuracy and stopping power. "The Rocketbladez come with a load of performance both in distance and consistant distance," said Brian Bazzel, Product Creation Manager for TaylorMade. "But even above that is it gives you a higher trajectory and improved feel by the way we treat the pocket in the back of the cavity." Before, I mainly shot in the low 100's with an occasional score in the 90's. Now, I'm consistently in the 90's, and I'm still improving. My last tournament I won in "D" Flight. My handicap has dropped 3 points. I hit these clubs 10 to 15 yards further than my old Adams set. Make sure you get fitted to get the proper shaft material, flex and length. I tried titleist ap1 712 irons & Calaway x hot irons. I'll tell you the taylormade were so easy to hit and couldn't believe the 7-iron was 160-170 yards on simulator. You can feel the power on solid hits and the ball gets up in the air quickly. On miss hits the club is forgiving and the results are usually favorable. Well I have played over a dozen rounds and they have been pretty good to really good, no wheels off round! I am not getting the unwanted lesson from other golfers I play with. Silence is golden. I have confidence in every iron from 4I to GW. Ball flight is medium low and penetrating. I usually end up a little left of my intended target, but I can live with that all day long. I feel like a real golfer now. I think I have actually found my iron utopia. RocketBladez irons also incorporate their newest and most effective iteration of Inverted Cone Technology. The improved Inverted Cone design delivers two critical benefits. One, it increases the size of the clubface area that delivers high ball speed. Two, it influences how the face flexes and rebounds at impact to control the angle at which the ball leaves the face, promoting straighter shots and a tighter dispersion. In the RocketBladez clubhead design, 17.5 grams of redistributed weight enabled us to lower the CG by 2.5 mm compared to the Taylormade Burner 2.0 irons. Locating the CG lower and in the center of the face makes it easier to consistently find the sweetspot to achieve maximum energy transfer from club to ball, promoting a higher launch angle and maximum distance. They are not blades and the mid-sized heads had a generous but not too thick top line and the offset was no more than you would expect on an average iron. I feel that the RocketBladez, especially the long irons, will be in the bags of a wide range of players.
