Among the different black teas that are made in Sri Lanka, the most popular include the Nuwara Eliya, a light variety, the Uva which should be made with milk and the Orange Pekoe. They are a safe choice and go well with almost any food. You can also add a little bit of doterra bergamot essential oil here to make it more citrusy. 3.Darjeeling Black Tea The teas come from Darjeeling, India and were first popularized by the British colonialists who spent the hot summer months on the hills where Darjeeling is. In many ways, Darjeeling is a perfect afternoon tea as it goes well both with salty and savory snacks like pies but also with fruits and chocolate foods. There are two types of teas coming out of Darjeeling that are popular, the floral First Flush which is picked in spring and the Second Flush which is more fruity. 4.Chamomile Tea A tea which does not contain caffeine, it is good for people with anxiety and those that have problems sleeping after drinking caffeinated beverages. It has an apple flavor which makes it go well with sweet foods like fruits and scones. It is known for its calming effect and can be taken before going to bed as a sleep aid. 5.Assam Black Tea A robust and acidic tea, the Assam Black Tea is grown in the mountains in east India and is one of the most popular brands of black tea. Usually enjoyed with milk and sugar, the tea is great with sweet foods. But the more bold can always have it without milk and sugar in which case sandwiches and other salty foods will go well with it.
