Everyone loves going to the movies. However, with the rising price of tickets, concessions, and the often-crowded seating, spending a night at the movies can sometimes be more trouble than it's worth. With home theaters today you can easily get a similar experience to that of a movie theater at a more affordable price than ever before. First, you need some solid equipment. The key to getting the same experience that you get at movie theaters is a big crisp screen and quality sound. Start by looking for a great projector. HD projectors are more affordable than ever today and with digital television, many people are opting to go with projectors instead of traditional televisions. The cost of a projector, screen, and speakers isn't cheap, but the cost is about the same as what you would spend on a single big screen HD television. While you can spend more on higher end projectors, it isn't required to get a great setup. You want something with high contrast and 1080p. Next, start looking for a screen. You can easily find a quality screen for around $100, or you could even use a clean white bed sheet to save some cash. Next, you want to install a sound system. To get that immersive experience that you get at movie theaters, you want to get a quality set of speakers. Surround sound is the way to go in order to get the full range of frequency and sound that you get from most movie theaters. You can purchase a 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound system as a pre made set, or you can opt to get each piece separately. If you don't want to set up that many speakers around your media room, you can just get a decent pair of stereo speakers and set them up on either side of your room for a similar effect. The last piece of hardware you'll need is a device capable of playing your movie.
