A Look At Incorporating Anti Inflammatory Spices Into Your Diet

Health
Many underlying conditions can cause inflammation in your body. Arthritis is a major source of inflammation as are other autoimmune diseases. Inflammation is a product of your body's immune system releasing white blood cells & other chemicals that can actually cause more harm than good.

In essence, arthritis is joint inflammation. It leads to stiffness, swelling and pain thus limiting your movements. When chronic, this condition can potentially damage cartilage and increase pain. You should redress it appropriately in treatment if you want to improve your condition. There are many natural, anti inflammatory spices that can help curb joint inflammation as highlighted in this article.

*Bay leaves

Bay leaves are potent anti inflammatory spices. You can use them to flavor poultry, meat, seafood and stews before eating such foods. Traditionally utilized as a treatment for arthritis, recent research studies demonstrate that parthenolide abounding in bay leaf is in fact a COX-2 inhibitor, making it an effective anti inflammation agent. COX-2 is an enzyme responsible for inflammation.

*Turmeric

The spice turmeric is present in the roots or rhizomes of Curcuma longa. Approximately three % of turmeric is with various curcumin or curcuminoids. Curcumin has high anti-inflammatory qualities. Many medical & scientific studies alike back-up curcumin's inflammation fighting properties. It reduces inflammation through 9 biological mechanisms. No other substance has been identified with as many benefits as turmeric making it rank among the most effective anti inflammatory spices you can possibly get to help reduce your inflammation. Popular turmeric options include adding it to soups, sprinkling it on crumbled eggs or mixing it into sauces such as pasta sauce.

*Ginger

Ginger tops on the list of versatile anti inflammatory spices you can use in desserts as well as entrees. It's a close relative to turmeric & abounds in Kaempferd, an anti-oxidant that greatly inhibits COX-2 enzyme. What's more, ginger use blocks lipoxygenase, another enzyme crucial in the production of inflammatory compounds in your body. Ginger tea is a reliable source of anti-inflammation supplement. Ginger is an anti inflammatory that you can use for rheumatoid and osteoarthritis arthritis.

*Garlic

Garlic contains selenium and sulfur and is essential in maintaining a normal-immune-system. It's also replete with compounds related to N-acetyleysteine, a powerful antioxidant that helps your body reduce inflammation and fight infection. Selenium compound helps your body to produce glutathione peroxidase, a powerful antioxidant that helps your body breakdown toxin. Sulfur enhances the ability of your body to produce glutathione. Aged garlic extract is the best form of garlic supplement to take.

*Oregano

It contains numerous compounds such as eugenol, ursolic acid and caffeic acid. You will often find it in Italian dishes such as lasagna, pizza and spaghetti. Use oregano anti inflammatory spices externally by pounding their leaves into paste mixed with tea or hot water. You can also add oatmeal to for a paste like consistency. Rub this paste on joint and muscles to soothe aching muscles and ease swelling.

*Recommended diet

Increase intake of arthritis friendly foods like those abounding in Omega 3 fatty acids i.e. olive oil, fish oil etc. will help curb inflammation. Cruciferous vegetables such as cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower and Brussels sprouts can help reduce inflammation. They also serve as a great source of minerals, vitamins and fiber. Make cruciferous vegetables a significant part of your diet. These natural anti inflammatory spices help suppress arthritis related conditions.
