An island can be used to double as a table. As long as there’s a solid work top and there’s space to tuck away your stools or your chairs, there’s always room for you to tuck in a bit of dual functioning furniture. Think about ways you can use your kitchen furniture in more than one way and you’ll be space saving right off the bat. The key to making your bespoke kitchen design work for you is to use every space but not to fill it. The more filled up the room is the smaller it will feel. Make sure you use your wall space wisely. While smaller cabinets might look dainty, ones which go right the way up to the ceiling will be much more practical because all that space becomes usable. Don’t cover all your walls in cabinets because it will start to feel claustrophobic. Try and keep at least two walls clear if you can because it will really open up the room.
