Reduce Vehicle Weight The heavier your vehicle is, the less efficient it will be to drive. Clear out everything except those things you absolutely need. Maintain Your Vehicle A well-maintained vehicle runs much more efficiently than one that isn’t cared for properly. Stay up-to-date on your maintenance schedule, and you can save significantly at the gas pump. Pay special attention to your tires and engine, since these usually have the largest impact on your fuel efficiency. Keep your tires properly inflated and make sure to rotate them on a regular basis.
