Who wins the battle between emotional eating? Anyone who knows how to prevent the triggers. You know how it is when you are trying to clean your house and you know that it isn’t going to stay that way? You know for a surety that it may last a day or even sometimes an afternoon! This can leave you feeling grumpy and bothered. And still, you clean anyway because at least you can prevent it from getting worse. Yes, it will get messed up again, but at least it may not be as bad as if you didn’t clean at all. This is a similar feeling to the triggers that turn into a cycle. But, once you read about emotional eating tips and find out what your triggers are you can figure out a way to stop the cycle. We can’t control our emotions, but we can control how we act when they flare up. There is nothing stopping your progress once you learn what to do. Once I learned what my triggers were and how to prevent them, I was able to establish more control over my food choices. Having control is important. When I didn’t have control, then my feelings would be in control and that is when all is lost. Working on focus, I was able to control my feelings and nature and accomplish my weight loss goals. 6 Emotional Eating Tips 1 Plan ahead. This is the most important step you can do. When you plan your meals ahead, you take out the emotions out of the equation. You already have a meal plan and you can follow it. 2 Avoid boredom. Sometimes we eat when we are bored. Check in with yourself and decide if you are just bored. Get busy doing something else. 3 Balance. I use essential oils to help balance my mind and body. This is especially helpful when stress and anxiety are abundant. 4 Dive into a project. You know how it is when you are so busy and involved in a project, you forget to eat? Work on your hobbies to lower stress and keep you busy. 5 Relaxation techniques. Work on de-stressing and relaxing. Less stress will help to moderate feelings and triggers. 6 Spirituality. Having overall peace gives you hope that problems won’t last forever. It helps you to realize that there is something bigger than you and you can get through troubles.
