Chandlee and Sons Construction recently completed two commercial build-out projects. The earlier project is Julian’s Cosmetics and Skin Care for Sembler Development in Town Brookhaven just north of downtown Atlanta. This 2,500 square foot design-build project incorporates several high end design elements. The most noticeable is an acrylic panel suspended in a frame down from the thirty foot high ceiling that has an etched design of leaves and branches that continue down the wall. Back lit glass display shelves are featured along one wall that really make the space shine. Seth Chandlee, co-owner of Chandlee and Sons Construction, applied value engineering methods in several areas on this project by taking the existing architectural and engineering drawings and making appropriate substitutions. By utilizing this method Seth was able to save the client money while providing all of the modern design elements the client desired. Seth replaced the architect’s recommended lighting fixtures and re-engineered a custom-built, lighted glass wall display with products from Ikea. He also substituted hardwood floors in place of the ones designated for certain areas by the architect. In total Seth was able to save the client over $300,000 by making these changes. Part of the enormous savings came by using a screwed dry wall ceiling instead of the original clinging type of ceiling. This exquisitely fresh retail space also includes acid-etched concrete floors and a unique floating cantilevered wall that wraps the entire cashing out area. A state-of-the-art wireless sound system and a complete security system were installed. This inviting space is divided into rooms for spa treatments, bathrooms, storage, an employee kitchen as well as the extensive display area. The Ankle and Foot Centers of Georgia was just finished by Chandee and Sons. This commercial build-out project is for Dr. Shamir Bhnkha, and is located in Deerfield Place in the township of Milton just outside of Alpharetta. Seth Chandlee and Jim Chandlee were able to take the doctor’s modern vision for his medical office into reality using the latest equipment and design finishes with upgraded trim, cabinetry, stone countertops and hardwood floors. The facility houses dedicated rooms for MRI and X-ray equipment, a nurses’ station, five patient rooms with hand-built desks, and public areas such as a waiting room and bathrooms. Seth installed a HDMI video system and a back lit logo sign at the patient check out that has a curved steel wall feature. This commercial construction project was completed within the agreed upon time of six weeks and Dr. Bhnkha is seeing his patients in a wonderful facility that completely fulfills his vision.
