Eczema is a type of skin diseases that cause the skin to become irritated. The most common type of eczema is known as atopic dermatitis. Atopic refers to a group of diseases with an often inherited tendency to develop other allergic conditions, such as asthma. Eczema is a common but non contagious skin disease. It is identified by dry, very itchy patches of skin and may include blisters that ooze and crust over.
