As September 13 intake is successfully over we would like to share with you all some of the major reasons of Visa refusals that we came across during Sept-13 intake. We all put a lot of efforts & energy for each student’s case & at last if it’s Visa refusal that is really disappointing for all of us. So here we have mentioned visa refusal case studies, our observation & precautions for it. 1) Personal Interview: In few cases, it was observed that student’s were not able to satisfy the Visa officer that they have done proper research of 4-5 Universities & why they had selected their chosen University. It was understood that student’s had not done any research about the Universities in UK & applied only to one University. Students were not able to provide the satisfactory information about their course, its structure, modules, content, etc. Precaution: It is expected from the student’s that they should have done proper research of about 3-5 Universities & after proper research they should have accepted the particular University so that when visa officer asks them questions they should be able to satisfactorily reply to the visa officer. 2) Funds: Although in one case student had maintained the funds for 28 days but Visa was refused as the student had maintained the funds in post office fixed deposit which is not acceptable by UKBA. Precaution: It is our responsibility to provide students with approved bank list with the list of acceptable funds. 3) Bank Balance Certificate/FDR Balance Certificate are mandatory: In few cases it was observed that although the student bank statements, fixed deposit & other things were perfect but Visa officer refused student’s Visa as the student had not attached the bank balance certificate which should be dated not more than 30 days before the date of his Visa submission. Precaution: Bank Balance Certificate issued within 30 days of submitting the Visa file is mandatory. It should include the current date & it should state that money was held in the account for more than 28 days. 4) TB Clearance report: In one of the cases the student forgot to submit TB Clearance report which resulted in refusal of Visa. Precaution: We should prepare a packet from our office including all the required documents & then hand it over to the student to avoid such mistakes. 5) One month margin: In some of the cases the students had applied for the Visa quite late & near to the start date & hence visa’s were refused. Precaution: Initially High Commission required less time for decision but when intake is near there are more applications which slows down the process. Thus student must keep a margin of at least a month at the time of applying for his student visa & the start date. 6) ATAS Clearance: In some of the cases student’s applied late for ATAS clearance & applied for Visa when only 15 days were left for start date of the course. Visa processing time at that point was 30 days hence Visa was refused with the reason of start date has already been over. Precaution: We must guide student’s about the proper time when he should apply for ATAS Clearance so as to avoid such consequences. Usually it takes 20-30 working days for getting ATAS clearance after successfully submitting correct ATAS application.
