This message is more for those in a committed relationship, and you can indeed apply some of the principles to all your relationships. I decided to write about this subject because I have not really done that before, and also because partnerships appear to be in great trouble today. Most of my business does deal with couples counseling, so over the past 33 years there has been much to observe. I am gonna keep this as simple as I can. One of the most important things is consistency in good communication, and consistency in intimacy and affection. These are two major topics, and I learned it from someone who had an outstanding marriage for 65 years (my Grandmother). She taught me if you cannot be best friends and lovers you will have trouble. So you must have excellent communication (understanding, team work, compassion, non judgment, loyalty, willingness, patients, forgiveness, honesty). Intimacy is how two people express Spiritual connection and is the glue for the two people, if that is not present in the relationship, it may not last, this is what I have observed over the years. Consistency is of GOD, and it needs to be in the relationship. It is also important that each person drop kick the baggage of the past (this one is a killer). If one or both of the partners carries junk from the past it will cause trouble. The real art in having a relationship is letting GOD be the Authority in the choice NOT ego (practice of prayer is key). One of the biggest things I see, is people are making a choice coming from ego. You can have an idea of what you want, but GOD has a better idea, and you need to trust that. The relationships that last a life time are the ones that GOD brought together, and you know by the deep peace that exists within the joining of the two. When GOD joins the two people, no matter what challenges come up, the two of them get through it effortlessly. Ask GOD what partner is right for you, and stay willing to grow and love at full potential. Stay open to GOD'S will, if a relationship is NOT meant to be LET IT GO! Trust GOD not your finite self. Blessings, love, and light, Nan www.nanettevictoria.com 732-775-0733
