Why Is Fiber Important With Fitness and Exercise

We all know how important fiber is in our diet, but how does that affect exercise, health, fitness, body composition, etc. It all comes down to a healthy diet yields the best results, especially when someone wants to have that lean look that we see in magazines. When you are eating excellent choices of foods on a daily basis, then you should be getting enough fiber in your diet. If you are having some challenges on knowing what to eat or need to get some recommendations, ask your fitness trainer Portland and they can advise you on seeing a dietician if you need further assistance, or help you with keeping a food journal to track what you are ingesting.
If you are someone who loves to eat fast food or dine out most meals throughout the day, then we know for a fact that you are not getting the necessary types of fiber in your diet that will give you a healthy digestive tract.
Eating enough foods that we also call “roughage” is what you are aiming to eat during most meals. You can get creative with this and add them in the way of food processing them, but if you can keep them in their original state, that is the best. What we do not want is for you to get your fiber from pills or powdered types of products. Even though this can be very helpful, especially for individual who are a low carbohydrate diet, getting the correct amount from fresh fruits and vegetables is the way t go.
One of the best things that you can do is keep a food journal for a few weeks and also monitor how your digestive tract is working. If you notice that you are not having more than one bowel movement per day, then we know for a fact that you are not getting enough good fiber in your diet. By keeping the journal, you will be able to visually see what you are eating and keep track and notice patterns on how you eat and what times of the day to you tend to eat certain foods. This is also a great benefit to have, but also if you are working with a fitness professional or Portland personal trainer, they will also be able to hold you accountable to what you are ingesting and ask if those were good options or could you have chosen different ones.
