Just Had a Henna Tattoo? Here's How to Make it Last Longer

Health,Fitness
For centuries now, man has been using tattoos as a form of art and self-expression. Whether you are trying out a new tattoo before making it permanent or if you simply want to change your look or accentuate a part of your body, there are things that you can do to make something like a henna tattoo last longer.

Before dishing out tips on how you can do just that, let us first take a look at how henna tattoos are made in the first place. As you may already know, henna tattoo is not permanent. The black ink used to mark the skin comes from henna, a type of plant known for its dyeing properties. The leaves of the plant are ground and mixed with an acidic liquid. The result is a semi-permanent ink which can be used for hair dyes, furniture stain, fabric dye and to create body art.

What’s good about using henna ink for tattoos is that they are not permanent. If you are thinking about getting a permanent tattoo from a salon, Dubai but are not really sure about it yet, you can test out a design by having it tattooed on your skin using henna ink. If you change your mind about the design later on, there’s no problem because the ink will not permanently stay on your skin. Henna tattoo can also be used as a form of expression, celebration and body art – and there are endless designs to choose from.

How to Make Your Henna Tattoo Last Longer

Now, if you would like to make your henna tattoo last longer, what are you supposed to do? Take a look at the following tips:

- Leave the henna tattoo paste on your skin for several hours before removing it.

Depending on how large the design is, there would be a small amount of henna paste left on your skin after the artist is done. To make sure that your henna tattoo lasts longer, leave the paste on your skin for several hours before removing it. The longer the paste stays on your skin, the darker the tattoo will be.

- Keep your skin dry for up to 15 hours after the tattoo is done.

It’s a good idea to keep the tattooed area dry for up to 15 hours. This will give the ink a chance to be absorbed by your skin, making it last for a good number of days or even weeks on your body.

- Apply baby oil or lemon juice to protect your henna tattoo.

Let’s say that you have already showered after having the tattoo done. You absolutely love how it looks, but you would like it to stay on your skin for a longer time. What you can do is apply baby oil or fresh lemon juice to the area to make it last longer. When bathing, avoid exfoliating the part of your skin with henna tattoo – and try not to apply soap on it at all.

By following these tips, you can make the gorgeous design of your henna tattoo last longer on your skin.
