Our class just finished reading an remarkable book referred to as Stone Fox. We definitely enjoyed this read aloud by John Reynolds Gardiner. It the story of a boy named Little Willy who lives with his Grandfather in Wyoming (a extended time ago). Tiny Willy grandfather has fallen behind in the taxes around the farm and Small Willy decides to do anything about it. He enters a dogsled race to win the cash to save the farm. Although Tiny Willy is very excellent at racing, he has to go up against Stone Fox, a racer who has never ever lost! I won give away the ending here, however the children were very surprised at what takes place! Right here are some comments regarding the story (straight from our Edmodo web page):

We talked about how readers themselves awake by immersing themselves in the stories they study. We talked about predictions and how they are able to change as we continue to read a story. We talked about photos and how readers make mental motion pictures in their minds to help put themselves into the stories they study. We made inferences, asked queries and talked about new vocabulary.
