Having a hefty general admission charge at $25, I anticipated to find out awe-inspiring pieces from this acclaimed Spanish designer, and it turned out to be worth every penny.
Inside the exhibit, it opens with Black, a theme and colour that Balenciaga himself was very fond of. Modern interpretations of classic priest-garb, donned with oversized buttons having a shorter hemline, and kind fitting for women were basically wearable and chic. Amazingly sequined, these rich fabrics made into customs gowns worn by royals and European elite are displayed, some shown for the initial time in decades. This exhibit is more than a capsule collection of the featured designer, its a show that should evoke an emotion out of anybody that appreciates a hard-working, creatively driven, and also a geniously talented man.
