A little more context:
Whenever we were in the middle of a big program launch, one of the most important components was outreach, whether it’d be making phone calls, posting on social media, sending emails, etc.
Especially when it comes to making phone calls, timing is important. We always aimed to call people in the morning or during the lunch break hour.
So when I arrived at the office, picking up the phone would be the very first thing I’d do.
No checking emails, no cleaning the office, no playing with the cat, and so on.
This is what he meant when he said the quote above. Focus on doing the main things that’ll help achieve the objective we’re working to reach. Everything else doesn’t matter.
Well recently, I was listening in on a random Zoom webinar where the host mentioned something very similar.
He said that one of the mistakes that beginners in the online business industry make is that they focus too much on the logistics.
I don’t necessarily blame them, I was there at one point asking questions like:
What are the best Wordpress plugins to use?
Which software is better, this or that?
Is there an alternative to Clickfunnels?
What’s the best email marketing software?
But the truth is, people aren’t going to buy from you just because you use Constant Contact as opposed to Mailchimp. People aren’t going to opt-in just because you built your landing page using Wordpress instead of Clickfunnels.
As a wise random stranger on the Internet once said,
“The software isn’t going to make you the money, it’s your sales and marketing skills.”
A wise thing to say indeed.
