An expression of media - Easily distinguishable by his manner, look and attire, Mr Deepak Bhuyan is a familiar name in the dramatic and cinematic circle of Assam. Mr.Bhuyan was born of late Bani Kanta Bhuyan who had been an accomplished artist in the Satriya tradition.
An actor, director, film maker, playwright and writer, Mr Bhuyan has written and directed more then 15 full fledged drama and innumerable other plays. His film Deutar Biya established him as a noted film maker of his own right. Mr Bhuyan is a ceaseless experimenter of dramatic forms, content and techniques. His drama shows the synthesis of the modern trend in drama –their forms, style and techniques. These trends are Expressionism, Neo-romanticism, Selective realism, Formalism, Absurdism, Grotowsky's theatre of involvement . They also show deep and abiding weakness for Roma Rolla's Theory of Art, Craig's and Apia's theory of the stage craft, Stanislavsky's illusion and empathy, Maoris Maeterlinck's symbolism and Brecht's alienation. But he has never been a follower and blind imitator. As a director of films and dramas Mr. Bhuyan is never vain. He seems to understand where he stands. His success depends not only upon the specialized form but also the understanding of human nature.
