1. Feng Shui and Space Clearing
November 16, 2013
Feng Shui and Space Clearing are two separate but complementary practices. With Feng Shui we are looking at the semi-permanent energies which surround a property as well as what we can interpret of the interior influences via architect, design, qi flow and personal compatibility. With Space Cleari...

2. What Happens When You Remove Your Roof?-A Feng Shui Perspective
November 16, 2013
Houses can and do outlive people. And periodically, a house will need a new roof. Professional roofers suggest a new roof every 20-30 years. In classical Feng Shui, we know that the interior energy of a house is captured when it was built and specifically when the roof has been installed to close ...

3. When The Front Door Is Not the Front
October 27, 2013
We have a word to describe the main door that people use to enter and exit their home. We call it the “front” door when we mean the door that is either used the most or the one with the implied formality as the door that one would receive guests from, compared to a back door. And yet, in a Feng Shu...

4. Just How Old is Feng Shui Anyway?
October 20, 2013
Feng Shui is usually described as an ancient practice that is several thousand years old. And yet lately I have heard of at least two Chinese practitioners who are now saying it is not as old as people generally think it is. One man’s article on the Internet is even claiming that it is only about ...

5. Can Good Feng Shui Increase Libido?
October 13, 2013
I have had menopausal women ask me if feng shui remedies can increase their libido. This is a fair question in light of the fact that some of modern Feng Shui’s popularity has been riding on New Age notions about Romance and Marriage corners. Certainly, relationship scenarios are a big topic in my...

6. True Or False: Two Popular Feng Shui Beliefs
October 04, 2013
As an occasional contributing author to a couple of well known websites, I am regularly forwarded Feng Shui articles written by others since I’m on a list to also receive them. Most of the time, unfortunately, the articles have been written by a sincere but misguided novice who continues to perpetu...

7. Evaluating Businesses with Feng Shui
September 27, 2013
When I read articles by other Feng Shui practitioners, sometimes I cringe because all too often a generic Feng Shui principle will be passed on, without regard for whether the location in question is a home or retail establishment.
A business, by definition, can and should be a more “yang” e...

8. Feng Shui and Restaurants
September 26, 2013
There are different rules in Feng Shui theory for assessing commercial spaces compared to residential spaces. And then, each commercial property or business will have unique characteristics that can be catered to, with enough advanced planning.
For example, the ideal entrance for a restaura...

9. Can Feng Shui Be Used For Wide Open Space?
September 26, 2013
A big part of Feng Shui theory relates to the natural environment. So, evaluating open spaces should be included in all schools of Feng Shui.
The shape of a lot can have an influence on the eventual building that sits on the land.
Even before a community is built up, there are direc...

10. Can Feng Shui Help Someone Who Does Not Believe In It?
September 24, 2013
In the same way that the human race has been experiencing the affects of gravity before we even understood what gravity is, all people and animals on this planet experience Feng Shui whether they know it or not. And as an extension of that, a person who does not believe in the principles or applica...
